B i o g r a p h y Lianne began taking photographs with an old Kodak Brownie camera at the age of 14. The images she captured were her family, friends and nature. At both Canadore and Mohawk College, Lianne studied graphic design, pottery and photography. Since graduating, she has continued some studies with many evening courses and workshops. Lianne was employed for a time with the Hamilton and Region Arts Council, and after a move to North Bay, with the North Bay Arts Centre.
Lianne enjoys taking photographs of landscapes, nature, from Northern Alberta and British Columbia, as well as local sites, where she resides now, south of Ottawa in Kemptville, Ontario. She has an appreciative outlook at the beauty and simplicity of nature, as well as the interesting man made objects – angles and lines around her. Since moving to Kemptville, Lianne joined the North Grenville Arts Guild (NGAG), the Branch Artisans, North Grenville Arts and Culture Council (NGACC), the Nepean Fine Arts League (NFAL). She served as chair and co-chair of NGAG for five years. Lianne’s community involvement with the local signature event of North Grenville (Kemptville’s) Dandelion Festival, had been for a number of years. Lianne became the Nepean Fine Arts League’s newsletter editor in March of 2009. Lianne’s adventurous spirit and love of colour, angles, light and shadow lets her explore various subjects and manipulation of her photography. She has worked with different lenses and filters, as well as investigating computer effects and enhancements. Her love of the arts continues to grow as she matures.
